Cappadocia

A Unique Geography

The region once contained the active volcanoes of Erciyes, the former Mount Argeus, and Mount Hasan. Various eruptions from these two volcanoes covered the surrounding region with tuff, a thick layer of mud and ashes.

Cappadocia, unique miraculous nature wonder, is the common name of the field covered by the provinces of Aksaray, Nevsehir, Nigde, Kayseri and Kirsehir in the Central Anatolian region.

A Wonderful Experience

This region is generally cooler than the popular coastal areas of the Mediterranean and the Aegean. April to mid June and September to October are the best months for avoiding the intense heat and crowds of summer. Allocate more than two or three days to experience this truly unique area. Cappadocia, within easy reach of Istanbul, with its miraculous natural wonders, fairy chimneys, rock houses, underground cities, superb frescoes dating from 9th century and famous hot air balloon tours, it is a unique place to visit.
